“Kate goes above and beyond with the kids that she teaches. Her sessions are creative, interesting, stretching, and the kids love her. She has really championed my son in his art and I’ve really seen his skill and confidence grow with her input.”

Reuben- "It's good because you get to make lots of different things out of different types of junk" Becky- I love how encouraging Kate is of all the children. She is amazing at fostering independence in making skills, letting the kids try all sorts of techniques and developing their imaginations. Mess and chaos is allowed in pursuit of creativity in a way that might feel harder to facilitate at home, and by encouraging them to show and talk about their work she is also developing their confidence. Out of the box is simply brilliant.

“Our son signs up for this club term after term and always comes home excited after a session. He loves the hands-on nature of it, the fact that he gets to use all kinds of tools and materials, and the incredibly creative and impressive works they are helped to make. This is no ordinary arts and crafts session!”

Marlowe, a student at Hertford Juniors says - Thank you very much for the amazing workshop it was really fun. I hope you do some more soon because I can't wait to see what other makes we do. [:OwO:]
His dad says - I was particularly impressed with the detail, variety and sheer imagination that Kate elicited from the children. I found her to be supportive and encouraging without being overwhelming which is especially good for the kids confidence. Of course we're going to be keeping an eye on her workshop opportunities in the future. I can't recommend her enough!

“She has absolutely loved these sessions – particularly making the moving dragons, drilling and making a mural in the playground, making candles, xmas tree decorations, her framed cactus, and having a challenge to make ‘anything’ out of cardboard. She likes the variety of materials. The mural was brilliant and so nice to share their work with the rest of the school.”

“My daughter has learnt a lot of independence and confidence since starting this club. She loves creating things and planning to do them herself with support from the teacher. She has learnt a range of different skills and techniques.”

“Kate has been amazing, and our 7YO was excited every week to join the class. The creative use of materials, and the creations children have produced throughout the year were nothing we've seen before and we've always been excited to come to the showcase at the end of the term. Kate has been brilliant with the class, thank you!”

“Kate is great! I can’t recommend her sessions enough, so creative and fun. My daughter has loved her after school art club and has never been one for particularly being keen to draw/ paint at home but is so inspired by Kates sessions and is so proud of all her creations ☺️ thank you Kate!”

“Ranya was given lots of art materials as present on her birthdays and those stuff were never touched by Ranya before she was attending Kate's class. But now Ranya is very good at keeping herself busy using all these materials and making and creating things. Ranya does so many activities but this art club stands out as the best of those as I think it helped so much my daughter to become a creative and arty child.”

“My children have learned so many new skills but most importantly they both trust their own creativity more and like exploring new activities and creating things. Kate is really talented at bringing even the shyest children out of their shells and encouraging them to create and enjoy art.”
Parent, Elm Grove Primary
“The activities are more challenging than offered in other similar groups, and they really give children freedom to explore and try out different techniques, freely choosing to create according to their own ideas. The work brought home is genuinely good quality (rather than random craft headed directly for the bin) and worth keeping. Dynamic in the group seems to be much improved now the age range is narrower, and my daughter looks forward to it.”

My son Dani loves Out of the Box. When I pick him up, he always enthusiastically tells me what he’s been doing, and what Kate has said to him. He really enjoys it, and he has come home with fantastic creations at the end of each term. He was especially proud of a snail made from old printer parts (and I was too)

"oh I LOVE it so much! It is my favourite thing all week, because it is so interesting and fun"

“The class absolutely loved the session and got so much from it. They were still talking about it all day Friday! What you offer is such a special opportunity and one the children will never forget. I, too, absolutely loved the day!!!”

“You'll have to forgive me for being a little late to send this email, however I felt compelled to send you one after such a fabulous morning last week. Your lesson took us on a real journey into the life of Nelson Mandela and the children have been talking about it ever since. They come into the classroom everyday to view the artwork they have created and it shows what incredible artists they truly are when they start to experiment with different ideas. As we discussed on the day, creativity is often sucked out of an action packed curriculum, but we certainly felt very creative that morning so for one final time - thank you from Year 4.”
